I like to make things

Hump day already…

Posted by mybloomnart on April 16, 2008

Well here it is Wednesday already! Time does fly by the older you get. The lawn needs mowing. The sweet peas got strung up to the fence yesterday. And the herb garden got weeded. Along with the lettuces and spinach patch. Today I have ambitious plans in the gardening department. Because the weather is supposed to be Perfect! Into the high 60’s and sunny all day…yay

We planted a strawberry patch 2 years ago. The first year they were just getting established. The second year (last year) we had the drought and they were stunted for most all the summer and didn’t thrive. They survived however! So since we will be moving this summer/fall and won’t be here to tend them anylonger. ..I am going to pull them up. Save enough to put into the huge strawberry pot that we have. And the remainder I will give to my brother-in-law/neighbor. He loves to garden and will be living here for years!

The herb garden contains: Thyme, Mint, Sage, Orageino, Celantro and Chives. We had lots of Basil last year and I didn’t save the seeds. So I will have to replant basil. There is room for a couple more herb varities…just not sure what I want to plant yet besides the basil. There is nothing better than cooking with fresh herbs!! And for tea!

So the strawberry patch will become more garden space. We have a place for tomatoes only. We just need to put more fill dirt into it…it has been our recent compost pile. And there is a Kale growing in it that we never planted. Must have come up from the compost!

I ordered some homemade soaps a week ago and am anxious to receive them…The buyer said they will ship early this week. She is from Atlanta so I am happy that I am shopping local.

Here is a necklace I put together last week and just listed today. It is really pretty…

I know what you mean by time flying by.

We have had a small strawberry patch for years. The snails and slugs get most of them. Because we have more of a vegetable garden this year, I will probably be taking better care of those too. My wife planted an herb area too. We will see how that goes. She is looking forward to the fresh herbs from it.

I like this necklace too. You have a thing for turquoise lately.

Have a good weekend, now that the weekend is here already :-)
