Well, it has been a long process but I have finally listed some items on my etsy shop. I don’t know how to link to it yet. But watch out when I do!!
My photos are crap! I spent all day (well, half the day) yesterday taking (trying to) pictures for this shop at etsy. Trying all kinds of props…baskets, china, rusty things and buttons and I don’t know…I’m not real happy with most of the pictures. However, my little shop is up. Alright, I know, I am far behind the craze. But what do I have to loose?
So I’m tired..have to work a few hours tomorrow…so I have to get to bed.
But I’m happy tonight that I didn’t watch any tv at all today! Instead I made some chicken noodle soup and biscuits for dinner after work. And spent really most of the rest of the time 8pm-now working on the etsy thingy.
Oh yeah..Richie was cleaning out some of his tools in the garage. He has an old metal cabinet (I don’t know where it was from) something like an old dentist cabinet or mechanics. Well it had some metal label holders so I took those off before he trashed it. I’ll find something to do with them. Some time this week I’ll try and get a photo of them…
Good night!

All day long I have had the country music station on the radio. I usually Don’t listen to this kind of music. First of all, I don’t know any of the songs. And second, I just don’t usually feel any connection to the lyrics in the songs. But today was a different kind of day I guess. And I found myself crying to songs! There is one song that has been on for at least 3 times…something about a man turning 100 years old and then a younger man listening to the advice from the centenarian. And it is SO sad and TRUE and maybe it is peak hormone time or something..but I keep crying at some of these country songs!!
Richie got the roof completely roofed and it looks fantastic! Such a relief to see that it is finished. Next is the fireplace. It is stone fronted and has a plain wood (pine?) board as a simple mantle. Richie has rescued an antique wood mantel from a job. He is going to take the stone off and put up the wood mantle. It is painted white so will go with the wood trim of the rest of the house perfectly. We will repaint it of course to match perfectly!
I made some spinach noodles with onions, carrots, kale, garlic and herbs from the garden. We do have some dandelion in the yard. I didn’t notice any yellow blossoms…only fuzzy white heads. And as soon as I find some yellow ones, I will dig them up and use the greens in salads and soups and the root as tea. Dandelions are rich in nutrients and have many healing properties.
Also, I took dozens of photos of jewelry for my etsy shop. Yesterday I made a banner. It is not great but good enough for now.
I’m feeling extremely blessed…
Here is a new website…I love Jim Kunstler’s no-nonsense and entertaining style!
Ok…I’m coming down from a red wine buzz…ahh…it felt sooooo good! Happy Sunday!

I finished this today…
Earlier today I posted a nice longish ditty and when I went to publish it…a wrong button must have been pushed and TAH-DAH…it disappeared. Now it is late and I’m somewhat tired and forgot the jest and forget it!
Etsy is still on my mind. And this evening Richie showed me how to take closeups on his camera. So once the weather cooperates, I will get some props and start taking some killer photos for my new shop. It is so easy to set up! One thing I need to work on in the mean time is a banner. Anyone out there ….help! I do have photoshop and also a mac (free download) office like program called neo-office for mac. I think it has something on there for some sort of web design. All this is so very time consuming. But hell, I do love to spend time on the puter’.
Oh, the soup….I cooked some bean soup this afternoon…it didn’t really turn out that good. I put some seaweed in it to see how it would taste and ….ummmm, not too good that way!
But I have been doing exercising the past few days and it feels great!
Another thing, we (both Richie and I…but mostly me) are trying to really limit out tv viewing. It is so hard. Because it is just the two of us so if one of us turns it on the other one wants to be right next to the other. We are really inseparable sometimes…lately we have been having some wonderful big belly laughs. Complete with the gasping for air and tears rolling down cheeks. What ever it is, I just hope it lasts like that for a good long time!
I purchased an item via eBay last week and it was delivered today. It was a chrome grill for my son’s jeep. When he opened it, it was broke in two! I wasn’t here when he opened it…he had just stopped over. But he later told me about it and that he went ahead and installed it. He hit a deer in December and his whole front end is messed up. I asked if it looked like the part was damaged due to shipping or was it like that before. He said it wasn’t packaged very well and looked like it had been thrown around during shipping. So, I emailed the seller and told him about it. You are supposed to write feedback on items you buy. I’m not sure what to say. Whether it is the fault of bad packaging or handling. As of yet, I have not heard back from the seller. AAARRRGGG!

I can’t seem to find the right look for this little blog. It’s not a really big deal. But it bothers me when the site isn’t “pretty” and useful to look at. So again, another look. This one is open and clean and I think, nicer.
Sometimes I would like to write some personal and albeit more interesting subjects! But because of FEAR. Of being found out by ones who might be offended, I keep it sterile, short and generic. Add to that list, BORING. Yes, I admit and I truly know that it is boring. But this thing with blogging is tricky stuff. Lots of blogs out there open up with all kinds of personal issues and details. They are the ones I like to read. I feel as if I get to know those people in some little way. They have trusted to voice who they really are and have not feared it.
So I put up a face and name.

It snowed last night here in Georgia! And just like a kid I had to go out and play!
Shot through the heart!
I went next door and made my neighbors come outside…they gave me some tea!
LeeAnn my neighbor my neice! Isn’t she pretty?
Marsha my neighbor my sister.Another day off due to the snow…all the county schools are closed today. I will be working on the monkey quilt and make some blackeyed peas and corn bread.

I’m almost finished with a whole pot of tea. Green, Earl Grey, fennel and fenugreek (my special mix).
Here’s what I’ve been up to…
linen on hardboard with mica layers…so far.

Well this is finished and I’m not sure if I like it or not. But it is my segway to making some more things. It has been awhile since I have really painted anything. It has been over a year at least…probably longer. So what I will be making are baby steps right now.
I started with this idea…

Then I started painting and something else came out that looked like this…
Now it is finished…and looks like this…kind of. Because the lighting is not good…this was the best I could do photo wise.

I’m slowly getting into the day. It usually takes a couple of hours and 2 cups of tea. Lately (the past 3months) instead of honey in my tea I have been adding xylitol for sweetness. From what I have read on this sugar substitute is positive. It is widely used in Finland and come from a birch tree. There is research in Finland that xylitol inhibits tooth decay and reduces biofilms. These are good things, so being the human experiment that I am, this is what I am trying.
Hearts are what I’m focusing on right now. In progress is a collage/painting that I will be working on most of the day. Yesterday I had a hell of a time trying to find some good old fashioned pillow ticking. Finally (though it is not as heavy a fabric as I would have liked) I did score 5 yards at Hancock Fabrics. In navy blue stripe…I have many plans for this material! And now I am looking for a wire working jig to make my own ear-wires. Buying them premade is just so expensive and I love the all handmade touch of jewelry with no production/factory made components.
Rich is making some of Emeril’s risotto today for dinner with shrimp, artichoke hearts and real cream! Usually I shun dairy and all flesh foods but I’m not a Nazi about it…so to indulge in some special food with loved ones is more rewarding than a strict health regeime. We have never made it before. Already my mouth is drooling!
So off to listen to To the Best of Our Knowledge and paint some…drink lots of tea and think of all the things I am grateful for.
Feeling very blessed and fortunate this cloudy, overcast day…

Here is the finished beaded bracelet. The photo is not very detailed. I am not very good at taking close-ups there must be a secret! And I don’t know it…

Today I’m going to work on opening an etsy shop. I know I am way behind the times in doing this…and it may be on the downswing (starting an etsy shop)…but that is what I’m going to do. Because I have too many handmade things…and I can only give away so much.
It is cold! We woke to a house with a temperature of 51 degrees F. this morning. Richie got the furnace working again. Thank goodness I am married to such a handyman! Now the house is nice and warm! Yesterday the furnace went out also…so I baked some bread and started the fireplace until he got home to get the furnace going again!
Also, the weight training is going well. Now to get into a regular aerobic sort of training. Dance is always great. I love dance…ballet, modern and free form.
May you and I have joy!
