Recycled jewelry

Posted by mybloomnart on April 28, 2007

Yesterday and today I’m working on recycled jewelry.

Using keyboard keys and beads…and I had to make a “trout” necklace for Spencer and Hunter. His (Spencer’s) old one broke. So I thought he needed a father/son set!

Tonight we will go looking at Mac ebooks. I’m getting anxious to get one so I can easily work on my creative website. Right now, it is a mess of what I put together 2 or 3 years ago.

It got to freezing last night and even snowed here in Georgia! We had to cover the fig tree and the lettuce rows. It is windy and still cool out, low 50’s.

Hooray I finished my purse last night!

It is made out of remnets from a dress and scraps from the monkey quilt. It is COMPLETELY made by hand. No machine was used in it’s construction. Of which I am very pleased. It did take a couple of weeks to construct. And the pattern is entirely my original (design as you go) creation. It is lined, with a batting between layers. The batting is even re-used from an unused mattress cover. I made a pocket for my ipod or cell phone inside. Can’t wait to use it and see if anyone comments.

Here is a photo of the little pouch that I made for my stepdaughter.

Making a soup of brown rice, black beans, tomatoes and herbs from the garden….parsley, sage, chives and a tiny bit of rosemary.

Spread the cheer!!
