Vacation time…
I am taking a little blogging break. Not sure how long…one day, one month…who knows. There are things I have to focus on. And just wanted to get away from being inside and on my ass!!!
I am taking a little blogging break. Not sure how long…one day, one month…who knows. There are things I have to focus on. And just wanted to get away from being inside and on my ass!!!
Well here it is Wednesday already! Time does fly by the older you get. The lawn needs mowing. The sweet peas got strung up to the fence yesterday. And the herb garden got weeded. Along with the lettuces and spinach patch. Today I have ambitious plans in the gardening department. Because the weather is supposed to be Perfect! Into the high 60’s and sunny all day…yay
We planted a strawberry patch 2 years ago. The first year they were just getting established. The second year (last year) we had the drought and they were stunted for most all the summer and didn’t thrive. They survived however! So since we will be moving this summer/fall and won’t be here to tend them anylonger. ..I am going to pull them up. Save enough to put into the huge strawberry pot that we have. And the remainder I will give to my brother-in-law/neighbor. He loves to garden and will be living here for years!
The herb garden contains: Thyme, Mint, Sage, Orageino, Celantro and Chives. We had lots of Basil last year and I didn’t save the seeds. So I will have to replant basil. There is room for a couple more herb varities…just not sure what I want to plant yet besides the basil. There is nothing better than cooking with fresh herbs!! And for tea!
So the strawberry patch will become more garden space. We have a place for tomatoes only. We just need to put more fill dirt into it…it has been our recent compost pile. And there is a Kale growing in it that we never planted. Must have come up from the compost!
I ordered some homemade soaps a week ago and am anxious to receive them…The buyer said they will ship early this week. She is from Atlanta so I am happy that I am shopping local.
Here is a necklace I put together last week and just listed today. It is really pretty…
These are definitely different! Modern looking in style and a nice long dangle to elongate your neck.
Materials:
Antiqued brass earwires (kidney shaped).
Antiqued brass loop.
Glass beads, clear and rootbeer colored.
Cut glass focal bead, turquoise colored.
These earrings hang a little over 3 inches (including the earwire drop).
Available here.
It is a gorgeous day out today.
Here is the treasury that I grabbed last night! It is so hard to narrow down your favorites…but this was my try at it!
I had to snap-shot it in two parts because I don’t know how to do it big enough other wise. This I only recently learned on a Mac forum…as you can see my desktop is cluttered with all kinds of files!!!

Hope you get the idea…
cheers
The chain is a long 30 inches!!!
The materials are a nice mix of:
Sterling silver for the toggle clasp.
Gunmetal linked chain where the Pendant hangs.
The Pendant is comprised of Bali silver beads, Swarovski, lavender cubed crystals and glass, pale pink delica seed beads on a Sterling silver wire.
The seed beads are hand woven on nymo beading thread.
A round Amethyst bead hangs at the tip.
You can purchase it here.
These earrings are about 3 1/2 inches long (including earwires). There is a Crystal tear drop at the end to sparkle in the sun! The earwires are Antiqued brass. They are only $10.00 in my etsy shop.
My keypad bracelet was included in a treasury tonight! Here is the link: etsy treasury. Cyndie from CyndieSmithDesigns is the curator of it. She makes really cool Metal Art Jewelry. Thank-you Cyndie!
This is the first time I have been in one of these.
Also, I reached my 100th heart today!! Good day at etsy….
I have been doing some deep cleaning. The kitchen is finished as is half the living room. But for now I need a break.
Having just checked email I discovered that the book, “1000 Jewelry Inspriations” by Sandra Salamony will be available in June or July. She just received her early advance copy. I am so excited to be included in this book. And am looking forward to seeing all the other contributors projects! Those are my zipper earrings on the cover! And she took 7 pieces of my jewelry to use.
I’m heading outside to enjoy this glorious weather while it lasts! I’ve got some compost to transfer to the garden and some weeding to do. The peas are getting about ready to start vining up the fence and the spinach and swiss chard need thinned.
Cheers!
Well, today is nearing to a close…and I got lots done this day! I’ve been doing real good diet wise. On the blog Path to Freedom they have a kick ass granola recipe that I have been making almost weekly. Because that is how often we go through the stuff. So as long as we have this in the house…that is what I have for breakfast.
Here is Richie putting in the windows. You can see the cherry trees blooming outside in the front yard.
We are still working on the living room…and have put in new energy efficient windows. The old ones were from the early 80’s (original to the house) and only single pane. The fireplace is all painted and Richie almost has the trim done on it , the baseboards and the crown. What a difference a wider trim board makes. It updates the house tremendously.
The fireplace is almost finished…I put the final coat of paint on it today. Jacques just had to get in the picture. And Norm from “This Old House” is making a fireplace mantel too on the tube.
I was looking through the iphoto and found this picture of Richie from last fall and noticed a ghost like figure coming from the pump! Freaky!!
I swear this picture is for real!!!
Now that I am caught up with CHORES, I should have a chance to make something tomorrow.
Reading Don Quixote before bedtime…
I have set up my other website mainly for “show and tell”. Showing what I have made and what I have listed in my etsy shop. I will show what I’m making here also. But not use this as a place to sell. I like having this site to write and explore other interests like:
the list is as endless as are my interests.
Good night all…
Persistence, persistence and determination! I just keep going and trying new things. For the past 8 years I have been into beads and beaded jewelry. Having learned how to sew at an early age (my grandmother and mother both sewed) I find peace and contentment doing handsewing. I’ve made an entire jacket by handsewing only! Anything I can make with my hands makes me happy.
Eating healthy and simplifying my life is a passion.
